One of downtown Chattanooga’s most recognizable landmarks is about to begin a new chapter.

The Tivoli Theatre will reopen this October following an extensive $75 million restoration—bringing new life to a venue that has been part of the city for more than a century.

For Chattanooga, the reopening represents more than the return of performances to the Tivoli. It’s another significant investment in the downtown core and an example of how historic preservation can play a role in a growing city.

A thriving downtown is built through many pieces working together—businesses, restaurants, entertainment, housing, public spaces and destinations that continually bring people into the city center. The renewed Tivoli adds another important piece to that mix.

The theatre will officially welcome audiences back October 20–21 with Billy Strings, followed by a new season of concerts, Broadway productions, comedy and community programming.
